Ronin

Friday, October 27th, 2006 will mark my last day of full-time gainful employment at Fair Isaac Corporation where I’ve been a part of the skilled and talented team responsible for myFICO.com for nearly four years. My reasons for leaving are many and varied, but in the end I simply felt it was time to move on.

I’m giving up the comfort of a steady income with benefits for the exciting and terrifying life of the freelance web designer. It’s a gutsy career move, rife with potential for failure. But the greatest risks can often lead to the greatest rewards, and I’m hopeful for the future. I already have a few projects lined up, though I do plan to indulge in a brief, soul-cleansing period of gratuitous laziness before diving in headlong.

I wish the best of luck to the teammates I leave behind, and you can be sure I’ll keep checking in on the site in hopes that the markup doesn’t go to hell in my absence.

  1. Hey Craig. Just read your latest post — nicely written, as always.

Minor bug on your home page: top few pixels of the letters are truncated — the sentence “Focal Curve is the online homestead…”

No word on WF, but things appear to be positive. talk to you soon. Maybe a movie soon?

  2. Honestly it’s been so long since I’ve seen this site in IE6 I’m not surprised there are a few little bugs like that. I’ll fix it eventually. Meanwhile, the workaround is easy… use a better browser. :)
